The Splashers Club has unveiled its Club Treatment Learn to Swim programmes for children, which aims to give children the care and attention they need to pick up the essential skill of swimming. This programme is specially catered to provide fun and novel ways to engage children in learning swimming, while giving constant feedback for improvement.
The Club Treatment programme is offered in The Splashers Club's Little Splashers Academy. This programme is the brainchild of three former national swimmers and water polo players. Having almost 30 years of aquatics coaching experience under their belts, the originators of the Club Treatment programme feel that children like close personal attention, at the same time participating in goal-oriented activities for them to have a sense of acheivement.
"Children don't like to do laps and laps of swimming drills. They need novel games and activities to 'distract' them and prevent them from getting bored. We also believe that having smaller classes with a ratio of 1 instructor to 6 children is most ideal for all the children to get the amount of attention they need to learn swimming," says Teh Chong Nyen, the co-founder of The Splashers Club.
Unlike most swimming classes in Singapore, the Club Treatment programme also provides weekly report books for the children, and for those children who perform well during class, they are awarded stars. At the end of every semester, the number of stars collected will be turned in for prizes. Other Club Treatment services include a personalize photograph collages of the children in action during class throughout the semester.
The Splashers Club also offers various other aquatic sports programmes including flippaball, a junior version of water polo, semi-competitive swimming, diving and lifesaving.
