A child development music programme endorsed by London College of Music Examination and registered with Ministry of Education, Singapore
[Malaysia, November 2011] Akademi Muzik Seimpi Sdn Bhd’s (“Seimpi”) trademark programme, Music for the Intelligent Mind™ (“MIM®”) is the first pre-school programme endorsed by London College of Music Examination (“LCME”) outside the UK.
Developed by Malaysian-born Ms Flora Lim, Director and Principal, Seimpi, the programme is registered with the Ministry of Education, Singapore; and has developed and nurtured many young Singaporeans and Malaysians.
MIM® cultivates both the left and right brain of minds as young as 4 months old to children 4 to 7 years old.
The left brain learns in a conscious, logical and methodical way while the right brain learns in a subconscious, creative and intuitive way.
“Understanding how the whole brain works is critical in the development of young minds. Although the learning curve differs from child to child, equipping them with life-long skills are important to giving them a head start in their life’s journey and optimising their potential,” says Flora.
Young learners will go through left brain activities to recognise, analyse and interpret musical patterns; and right brain activities such as improvising on a pattern to bring out their spontaneity and creativity.
The carefully planned MIM® syllabus guides our young minds to explore the richness and excitement of music through interesting play, ensemble and innovative musical games.
The programme also introduces formal music training at an early age and prepares the child for the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (“ABRSM”) and LCME graded systems.
